Vista Clear have helped "thousands" of customers support vision health in various ways.
Unfortunately, there is no evidence that they are true. We can't find independent Vista Clear reviews online. The company has not published clinical studies in peer-reviewed journals, nor has it published any type of online tests to verify the claims made. Let's explore what the science has to say about Vista Clear.
There is conflicting evidence that Aboriginal Australians have better eyesight than non-Indigenous Australians. In this 1997 study, researchers analyzed decades of vision health data and determined that rural Australian Aboriginal youth had good visual acuity. However, the researchers found that Australian Aborigines "have rates of blindness compared to third world countries". About 20% of older Australian Aborigines had vision problems, while 10.4% of Australian Aborigines over the age of 60 were blind.
Vista Clear states that Australian Aborigines have "four times better eyesight" than others. This claim is unproven, but it is often repeated as a type of myth. In Australia, a vision professor says Australian Aborigines have developed "super vision" thanks to centuries of gazing out into the Outback. That professor suggests that some Australian aborigines "have eyesight that can be more than four times better than non-indigenous people."
There is no evidence, however, that indigenous Australians take the ingredients in Vista Clear to improve their eyesight or support their eyesight. In fact, few of Vista Clear's ingredients are native to Australia. Although many Indigenous Australians have better eyesight than non-Indians, it is not necessarily a diet problem.
It is possible that some ingredients in the Vista Clear support vision. However, without knowing the dosage of any ingredients, we are forced to assume that Vista Clear has low dosages of most of the ingredients listed. It's best to take a multivitamin, which has clear dosages of many of the higher protein ingredients in Vista Clear.
Lutein can support eye health in a number of ways. As explained in this 2018 Nutrients study, lutein has anti-inflammatory properties that provide benefits throughout the body. Lutein is particularly linked to eye health. The anti-inflammatory effects of lutein appear to have a particularly noticeable effect on vision. People who get enough lutein in their diets tend to have lower rates of age-related macular disease, which is the leading cause of blindness and impaired vision.
Most eye health supplements contain zeaxanthin or astaxanthin, two ingredients similar to lutein. These ingredients, like lutein, are carotenoids that support healthy inflammation. However, Vista Clear does not contain any ingredients for the eyes.
Some studies show that zinc can support vision health. The researchers found that taking the recommended daily dose of zinc was supported by a normal risk of age-related eye disease. There are similar studies for most of the vitamins and minerals in Vista Clear: People who take the recommended daily intake of vitamins and minerals tend to have better vision health (and overall health) than other people.
